Things are Not Always as they Seem

"well I'm the only one here besides my mother." he said

"As far as you know, things aren't always what they seem." Hunter said.
"Okay Hunter are you going to lecture us or are we going to eat?" River asked.

Nico was staring at the fish like he was going to jump on the table.

[***Stormchaser***]

"Well are you going to get fish or not?" Ali asked already getting fish.
"We're pretty informal, just grab what you want." River said and heard a banging on the front door. Ali immediately jumped up, high over the table and to the front door in the other room.
"Who is it?" Hunter quietly asked her.
"Him." Ali said smugly. River let out a small sigh of relief and Jordan and Hunter's expressions turned to annoyed rather than frightened as Hunter got up and to the door, sending Ali back to the table.
"Can't he just go jump off a cliff?" Ali asked.
"Don't say such a horrible thing!" River said.
"Hey anyone who's ever met that stupid con artist who gives our people a bad name would be thinking the same thing." She muttered and ate her fish.

Nico looked up and smiled "want me to beat him up?" he asked cheerily

"Nah, I can name at least two hundred people who would beat you up because they wanted to beat him up themselves." She said.
Jordan stood near the doorway, the man couldn't see her, but she could hear what they were saying.
"Jordan you're so nosy." River mouthed to her.
"They're talking about you, so yes I am going to be nosy." Jordan mouthed back.

(just fyi i plan 4 this guy 2 be the guy who killed jericho's mom)

a flash of lightning hit and he was frightened and became a kitty again. he went off to the door to look at the man. a man who oddly fit the description given by Jericho about the man. Nico's hair stood up and her hissed and started clawing at the door trying to get it open

"Looks like your cat wants to get out." The man said.
"Maybe. So what exactly do you want with River? She's not here, we haven't seen her in a long time." Hunter said.
"I'm helping out her family, her real family, they are sick with worry, especially after the death of her beloved parents, they can't bear to worry about her anymore." He said.
"Well she is not here, I'm sorry we can't help and now I think it is time for you to leave." Hunter said swiftly and opened the door for him to leave.
"Fine, I will be in touch." He said shrugging.
"You will not, now leave." Hunter said and the man walked out the door

Nico got past them and took off after the guy. he was a very mad kitty cat, he jumped onto the guys back sunk his claws into his back and teeth into his neck.

Ali ran outside after Nico right as the man yelled and threw him to the ground and left. Ali picked Nico up and checked to make sure he was okay. River had tried to run outside as well but Jordan stopped her so the man wouldn't see her

Nico was trying to struggle out of her arms so get at him. he didn't want to let him get away, not this time

"Don't worry, we know where he's staying, he's not going to be far outside the city." Ali said quietly and brought him back inside.

Nico looked very upset, he jumped out of her hands and jumped up near the phone, he pawed it off the stand pressed talk and started hitting buttons

"How are you supposed to talk as a cat?" River asked.

[~Amber~]

he didn't answer and he let the phone ring
"hello?" Jericho's voice came on the other side
"MEOW!" Nico said, more like growled
"Nico? wait where are you? why do you sound so mad?" he said so confused
