Their new opponent had created minions so Luke and Constance switched off with fighting and being a weapon when needed.
"Switch." Luke said changing to human form while Constance became a battle ax. He threw the ax and it cut the heads off of two rock-like monsters.
"You two are good, but your souls will be mine!" The magician declared.
"No way dude!" Constance responded as she and her brother switched and she sliced the magician. They two divided up the souls evenly when they were done.

"did you here all that?" James questioned and she nodded, the two had headed that way and stopped when they found them

"Yes, ninety-six! Just four more and we'll be Death Scythes. Let's go home and report to Lord Death." Constance said and turned to see Ella and James.
"Oh, hi there Ella and friend of Ella. Good thing we got here before you two did or the magician and his minions would've attacked you two." She said with a smile

"Oh, sorry for the lack of explanations. We've been going to school at Death Weapon Meister Academy. It's our job to collect bad souls who eat the souls of humans. You just missed one and since you're not weapons or meisters you were lucky." Constance said matter-of-factly as of there was nothing weird about it at all. There really wasn't but since weapons and meisters were fairly rare and most were at the school and the city it resides in they were rarely seen except when on missions

"I dont." James said and Ella hit him "ow ella."

"Will this help?" Constance asked and jumped high into a back-flip being consumed in a bright light and landed in Luke's hand as a deadly, but beautiful battle axe. There was a little more light and Constance's head and arms changed from the blade so the lower half of her body as still in the shape of the handle and in her brother's hand.
"Ta da! Magic!" She said with a playful smile. Luke proved his point by making his other arm change into the shape of a large shiny silver blade.

Ella blinked and james got woozy and fell over
"James!" she squeaked shaking him

"Sorry about that. That does tend to surprise people." Luke said, returning his arm to normal.
"Hey Constance, there's a spider on you." Luke said noticing a spider crawling up the handle of Constance's weapon form.
"Eek!" She squealed and changed to full weapon form still squealing and saying, "Get it off! Get it off! Get it off!" (yes they can be heard when speaking in weapon form.
He simply flicked it off.

Ella finally got him up
"go ahead and head home James." she said as he got up, he nodded and started walking back slowly to not fall over.
Ella smiled at them "I'm so confused right now."

"I'll try and explain it as simply as possible. there are people who can change into weapons and people who can wield them. Weapon and meisters. My brother and I are both and we go to a school that teaches us how to use our abilities and train so that we can collect bad souls. As students our goal is to collect ninety-nine bad souls, or kishin eggs, and one witches soul to become powerful weapons called Death Scythes. We're around to protect humans and keep the world in balance." She explained

she smiled and had her arms around one of lukes arms in a second

"Maybe, but it's hard." He answered.
"Yeah we haven't seen mom and dad since last summer. We have to live in Death City. But we get to travel all over the world!" Constance added.
