Kalani walked along the forest relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the village as she heard some of her people close by running back from the shore obviously worried about something.
"what has them spooked " she said climbing into the trees to get a better look of the shore

James looked out as he noticed land on the horizon, unfamiliar and uncharted. He smiled, excited as they came closer and hoisted anchor in the waters and prepared to load in the long boats.

she slid out of the tree quietly moving closer to the shore staring at the huge boat "That's a big...it's a boat...right?" she said as one of the lemurs hoped up next to her curiously
"and there coming here..oh no father won't be happy "

They hit the sands and climbed out.
"We should set up camp, but not too far in case there are natives."

she stayed back in the trees watching them carefully before getting pulled back by a hand and she squeaked until she saw it was milliner one of the boys her age "come on Kalani we have to go" he said quickly taking her back to the center of the island to the villiage

They found a few clearings just at the edge of the beach to set up camp. The crew stuck around camp and the beach for now but James wandered around a little more.

"let me go" she said pulling her hand away and he sighed"sorry right don't touch you, just head back I have to find the others" he said walking away and she decided against going back and went to the river to collect shells like she'd plan to do anyways. "I'm not letting strangers ruin my day" she grumbled wading into the water

James found where the river came out at a lake and sat on a rock by the water, looking around.

she laughed catching the lemur that was following her as she looked down at the water walking along the edge on the other side of the small lake not seeing him as she picked on up "look" she said showing the lemur

He noticed her but said nothing, sitting and enjoying the quiet.

she looked at the water then back up when the lemur hissed and she froze staring at him

He gave a small wave when they made eye contact.

she still didnt move, looking him over very carefully with a confused expression

"Hello." He said, attempting something than just sitting and staring.

"hello" she said back slowly walking along the bank towards his side still carefully watching him, she had to get to that side to get to the village
