"look I will go get her and you can talk to her yourself she's right over..." he looked in the direction of the balcony and saw nothing "what...where did she go?"
"maybe you were too creepy" his sister jokes and he shot her a look

"Is that her rushing off for the door?" One of the guards nearby asked, pointing to her running up the steps towards the doors.

he looked over "sure is good eye" he sat patting the guard on the shoulder before hoping after her
his sister sighed "oh this is soooo romantic"
his mother just smiled at her

Cindy made her way through the door and down the steps outside, almost losing a shoe when she stumbled on the last few steps, but her mask did fall off and broke in half. She didn't notice this, only grabbed for it as the other half fell off and was left behind.

(haha almost lost her shoe, lost her mask instead)

he stopped on the steps and sighed noticing she was gone. he pulled off his mask and looked down seeing the sparkle of the mask and picked the peice up looking around again

Once at home she quickly changed clothes and hid what she wore back in its hiding spot, besides her half of the mask she looked at it until she heard her family come home and hid it with her in bed as she pretended to be asleep.

he walked back in looking down at the peice and his sister met him at the door " well did you find her?"
"no but I'm going to" he said walking in

After her step-father stuck his head in to investigate that she had done as he said and gone to bed and went to bed himself she pulled the half of the mask back out and sighed, both thinking about the ball as well as what could have happened to the other half of the mask, likely tossed by someone cleaning up she assumed.
"Well, Lyle won't like it if he finds out I broke one of his and his wife's masks." She said quietly to herself, her mind briefly going to the elderly couple who had the most popular mask shop in town.
"Maybe someone found it and brought it to them, I can ask and see if they can fix it if it had." She declared before going to sleep with a smile knowing she would remember the night forever, even if the prince didn't.

one of the guards looked the peice over and handed it back " go talk to Lyle your highness he should know who it belongs to or at least have a clue"
Carson smiled "thank yoy elliot, tomorrow morning I'll be heading out " he said before going to his room for the night

She was up early as usual making stops at the baker for the mornings breakfast and other errands, deciding to go by the mask and craft store later on when she had free time and made her way back home.

a few hours later after finishing some paperwork he headed out with a few guards who knew exactly where to go. obviously getting some attention for being out and about as usual,
"this one sir" one said as he hopped off his horse "alright if your sure" he said as one of them opened the door for him to head in

"Oh hello your highness! What can I do for you today?" Lyle asked with a kind smile.

Cindy noticed the crowd at the mask shop and wondered what was going on. Someone beside her explained that the prince was there.

"I was wondering if you knew who this belonged to" he asked pulling the mask half out of his pocket "she dropped it last night and it broke on the way out"

"Ah that mask, it was just purchased a few days ago, can't say I know her name though. But she's got some mean and strict family, nice girl though, I think it's just step family she has left now. Who knows she might bring the other half back to see if it can be fixed?" He answered.
I guess I'll have to come by later. Cindy thought.

"Well if she does tell her I'm looking for her" he said setting the half on the counter "and it's best this goes back to when it belongs to if she chooses to fix it she will need the other half"
