Blood Affinity

"It is something we have to consciously use when we want to. I expect those who have before just didn't use it."

"Despite my position and demeanor I often hold I do care about the people of this land, human or vampire, and their well-being." He answered.
"However I suppose I should be honest with you further in that...well as Emilia's affinity is kindness and James possesses such a trait very strongly, you posses the trait that I am naturally attracted to so I suppose that would have a hand in it as well. We are naturally more drawn to those with such traits and the stronger they have the trait the stronger we ca be drawn."

He leaned against the tree next to him "well....your looking better, I'm glad


She blushed and looked down "oh I see, so like she wants to sink her fangs into james that's what you want to do to me "

"Feeling better...but I broke my vow...maybe it was a good thing." She mused.

"Yes and no. Sure we crave the type of blood from such people, but we're just naturally drawn as well."

He looked confused "what vow?"

She stopped and stepped up to him "well then when was the last time you had something besides those blood packs we saw yesterday?"

"I had vowed not to feed off a human. I did a lot of things out of grief and revenge and after that time I was so consumed by thirst that I almost killed a friend of mine. Scared them off for good and I didn't want to risk that again so I just vowed to not feed off of a human directly again."

I suppose about a year or so." He replied.

"Oh I see...well that didnt do you much good as you looked awful. No offence I didnt mean that in a bad way you just looked very sick"

"Any why? I mean I'm right here and as you said I'm what you want so why not?"

"Well I had stopped feeding altogether after a while." She replied.

"I know that is something you don't want. You don't like vampires and unlike Emily, I haven't cut myself off so I don't really need it, but it doesn't change the draw."

"Why would you do that to yourself?"



She sighed "well if I hated vampires so much as your saying then why do you keep coming around if your aware of it?"

"Guilt, grief, depression, take your pick. A lot happened in that short amount of time and I guess I just wasn't strong enough to deal with it. If I didn't have Drake I probably would have just let myself starve a long time ago."

"You say that as though it isn't true, but your attitude towards me and my cousin suggest otherwise. Just because I know someone doesn't like me doesn't mean I still can't be concerned."

"I see, well grief can make you do stupid things I know that personally but i let myself get over it for the sake of those around me as grace needs me"


"I dont hate you or the queen personally, you just make me uncomfortable and I'm not used to it"

"Yes I'm beginning to see that for Drake's case as well. I helped take care of him growing up, then he takes care of me in this state. I think it is my turn to owe him again." She chuckled. "He needs a vacation."

"Uncomfortable? I apologize then. I will leave you be to give you your space."

"Then if for anyone let yourself get better for him as he needs you and that way you could give the poor guy a vacation "


"Wait you dont have to" she says quickly stepping forward only to trip as usual over a rock in the ground

She nodded. "You're right. I need to get my head on straight again."

He caught her again. "You're really clumsy aren't you?"

"I hope I have helped you in some way at least with that"

She blushed staring up at hin "s-sometimes"

"In a way. Thank you." She nodded.

"Seems more common than that."
