She headed into the town to check in with her friend who had called her there in the first place to let them know that she would be around for a little bit, though didn't go into detail why.

Maverick woke up a little while later and stopped Alex in the hall
"Have you seen hunter?"
She shook her head "No I haven't seen her why?"
"She's not here"
"Relax Maverick"

She made her way back onto one of the trails to lead back to the base after picking up a little bit of supplies as well.

She got off the trail once in the clearing and headed into the area once again.
