Maverick was out in the woods surrounding the edge of pack territory with his beta as well well a couple of there scouts. Rouges had become a problem lately and they did have humans living within a village near by they had protected for many years to worry of.
The boldness of the rouges was something else as others learned not to mess with Maverick or his pack and town as he didn't hesitate to kill.
He slowed to a stop, his ears pricking up and listening for the sounds around them as the tracked a Rouge through the woods.It was wounded and it probably wouldn't take much for them to catch and kill them now.

Hunter had found herself in the town after a friend had called for help and explained that there was a pack that protected the town, but some of these rouge wolves were cunning and hiding pretty well in some cases. So she decided to set herself up as bait for a few of these rouges. It worked pretty well, and lured three to her. After an attempt at reasoning with them and failing she resorted to fighting and took down two of them, using her more common methods when outnumbered of staying in the trees and shooting, using a rifle for this, wanting to make things quick. The third was only grazed on the leg and escaped though didn't get so far that she couldn't add an arrow to his arm. She stayed in the trees in pursuit until he slowed down and took aim once with her rifle and shot him in the back of the head.
She landed close to where he fell and pulled her arrow out of his arm to clean and reuse just as she heard others approaching. On guard in case there were other rouges she had her rifle at the ready as the group approached.
"Whose there?"

Maverick stopped suddenly when he smelled her. His ears had perked up and he just stared at her, he towered over the other wolves as Alphas were always almost double the size of a normal wolve. His jet black fur felt like it all stood on end and he felt tingly
None of the others moved as they knew what was happening, they knew if they took a step towards her he'd kill them.
His beta flicked his attention to Maverick and then back to the girl and Maverick stepped slowly towards her not caring about the weapon in her hand he was concentrated on her looking for wounds.

Hunter, however, had no idea what the behavior meant, if anything it made her more cautious, recognizing him as the leader but not sure if they were part of the rouges or not.
Other than a few typical cuts and bruises most of the blood that was splattered on her was not her own though she was panting a little, out of breath from jumping through the trees.
"Are you with the local pack that protects the town?" She asked though did not yet lower her weapon.

He gave a slight nod at the question and looked to the others
'Take care of the bodies'
His beta looked to the others and nodded to the direction of the dead wolf to the side of her. They grabbed ahold of it by the scruff and back and dragged it towards an area not far from where they were where the bodies were being dumped.

She waited while watching them drag the bodies away before clipping the rifle to her back once again.
"Sorry for encroaching on your territory, a friend of mine from town called, said some of the rouges giving you all trouble were slipping through the cracks and thought it would be easier for a human to lure some of them out of hiding."

He let out a breath before stepping behind a tree and shifting back as his beta tosses a pair of pants to him and he slipped them on before walking back
"I'd prefer you didnt" he said watching her "you'll get hurt"
His beta Elijah snorted behind him and he shot him a glare in which Elijah's head went down quickly

"Pretty sure I'm the one still standing and the plan worked," she answered.
"Thanks for the assist," she added with a casual salut, "I will get out of your hair."

"Wait a second" he grabbed her wrist quickly "at least uh, come get cleaned up? Your a mess, and you did take down them for us. Thought unneeded we might as well thank you for it"
Elijah had changes back and was leaning against the tree amused by his alphas inability to talk to his mate. Maverick had teased him relentlessly when he found his mate now it would be his turn.

He let go of her wrist slowly and turned around "Well, Its this way, Elijah take care of the others make sure they finish up"
"Will do" he said before running off after after the others
"What friend of yours sent you out here and why didn't I know about it?"

"No one sent me out here. They asked for help and I answered the call simple as that. I do stuff like this all the time," she shrugged.
"Probably because you've had your hands full with these rouges running around maybe? Some started killing people in town Jack the Ripper style out of wolf form to stay under the radar more. The real questions I think you should be asking is why they're doing this at all and why are there so many. If I had to guess it has to do with your pack. You've got one of the largest packs right?"
Hunter had done her research before arriving to help.

"You've done some research I see..." he sighed stuffing his hands in his pockets "that is the reason yes, we usually get a few of them and take them out with no problems but a large amount of them have decided to try and take our territory in the last month. None of them had made it out of here alive so I don't know why they continue, sheer stupidity."
He looked over at her again "and now it's about to get even more dangerous and that's because of you" he added as they came up on a field that lead to a large building in the middle. It was the pack house where many spent there time between runs and training.

"Stupidity or a distraction." She answered.
"But I do research anytime I plan to go somewhere for things like this. I'm not about to go hunting down rouge werewolves in a pack's territory without knowing a little about it. I'm stubborn and reckless but not an idiot...most of the time," she laughed lightly at her own joke.
"Oh? I know I'm a trouble maker but do I really cause that much trouble where I go?"

He looked at her but didn't answer as a small girl came running over, she was very short so it was easy to tell tell wasn't a werewolve like the others around
"Welcome back, uhm Elijah said you had company and needed to get her cleaned up?"
"This is Alexandra, she is my beta Elijah's mate" Maverick explained "Alexandra this iisss..." he paused now noticing he never asked her name
