"How many times have you stabbed yourself with that tiny needle? It has to happen alot right I mean it looks difficult to do those little patterns and not get yourself" he chuckled "I'd do more harm then good trying that"


"Oh, and what is thought about this one? Do they think he stands a chance?"

"Many times while I was learning but hardly ever now unless I'm startled while doing it. Luckily the needles are so small they can be easy to get use to and don't leave scars."

"Well from the grapevine of the staff in their home he very much didn't want to be here either, so them mutually hating this does change the game a bit."

"How often do you get startled working on that? Is it by a person or the ghosts everyone says this place has?"

"He really didn't seem to excited did he?"

"It's only happened a few times, usually someone knocking while I'm focused but there was one instance of some books being knocked off the shelf and as far as I knew I was alone."

"No, but that could be beneficial, something they have in common in how much they don't want to be here for this."

"Makes sense, getting startled is how I shot my instructor in the foot" he said thinking about it and chucking


"I guess being royalty really isn't as glamorous as they make us feel like it is. Not knowing who's real and who's fake and just wants your crown"

"Oh no, are they okay?" She asked.

"I guess it could be for those with little responsibilities such as the ones that aren't first born, but you're right at least it often isn't for Astrid."

"Hes fine, apparently it wasn't the first time he'd been shot with an arrow. And luckily it wasn't a barbed one so it was an easy fix." He smiled "still won't let me live it down though"

She sighed "seems a first born royal is just as trapped as someone like me. This isn't how I pictured things when I was sold here to be"

"At least he was okay," she nodded.

"In their own way yes, but I hope you'll like it here, the princess wants to make good changes in the future and likes to befriend her staff."

"So about the drawing. Do you have your own studio space to do your art in?" He asked

" with some adjustment period i think i will...but that's until the King decides to sell me again Like the last place dis when they found someone better"

"I do, though most of the time I just draw in a sketchbook in my room or study."

"Oh the king wasn't the one who bought you, that was the princess herself. No one can move you without her permission," he answered.

" is it just drawing that interests you? A certain type like pencil or charcoal?" Art was something he could definitely talk about. More then stuffy political topics like his father

She physically relaxed then "Oh, I didnt Know that the princess picked me herself, why me though I'm sure there were way more qualified choices

"I have plenty of interest in most any art, but I do use things like charcoal and pastel chalk too."

"She saw your history, wanted a friend and thought she could give you a better life."

"Drawing is a bit easier to do on the go as well while painting unless you want to get covered in paint isn't always as portable. Drawing is not my strong suit I don't believe I could draw anything well"



"A friend? I'm not sure I'd be a good friend I've never even had a friend before "

"That is true it can be," she nodded in agreement.

"Nothing wrong with that, it doesn't mean you won't make a good friend."

He looked over at there parents who seemed to be talking a bit quieter and that made him suspicious "what are they talking about? I don't like the quiet"

She looked down at her food "I hope I can be"
