Ali dried him off while River flipped over various cards and studied them just as intently as the crystal ball.

he meowed once he was dry and jumped up into Rivers lap wanting to see what she was looking at

"Hey there." She said distractedly. One card had a picture that showed a lake and a young girl with green hair, hiding her face in her knees crying with two adults and a boy only a few years older than her. The adults and the boy were smiling.
The middle card showed an older version of the green haired girl sitting at a table staring intently at cards and a crystal ball with a white cat in her lap while the third card was fogged.
Ali was staring over her shoulder and said, "Strange, the future card has never fogged on you before has it?"
"No." River admitted.

Niko climbed onto the table looking at the fogged card, he sort of pawed at it

he looked up at her, then a rumble of thunder came and he pretty much sprang into her lap shaking

"Hm, you know, you kind of remind me of a classmate. Your eyes are even similar to his." She commented.
(ok so i was thinking that after the storms over, maybe an hour or so in the story, Nico leads her to his "home" but actually to Jericho's so someone that knows about Nico's cat-thing can take him in until he changes back, or Nico like follows her home, whichever idea you like est or just ignore both if you like neither ^^)

"River, Ali, let's close up early, the storm's getting worse, they're calling for sever weather and tornado watches. Let's get home." Hunter called. All of the customers had already gone.
"But what about the kitty?" Ali asked.
"Bring him with you, we don't want anyone stuck in this weather if we can help it, we'll find out where he lives when the storm's over." Hunter answered.
"I don't want to keep calling you kitty so since you remind me of my classmate Nico I'll call you Nico okay?" River asked.

"Here's a jacket to wrap around the kitty, or Nico, so he won't get wet, cause we don't use umbrellas." Ali said handing River a jacket.

River smiled a little and put the jacket around Nico and said, "Okay Nico, ready to face that storm?"
"River, it's pouring outside and you are asking a kitty if they're ready to face a sever thunderstorm, what do you think the answer will be?" Ali asked.
"Can't I ask anyways?" River said.
"Yeah sure, why not?"
