Does Status Really Matter?

"good bye" she said quietly slipping out the door

she made it home before her parents left
"Eden what's all this?" her mother asked and eden looked down, obviously nervous to explain "just someone very nice to me is all"

Robert went into town after changing to more normal clothes the have some time out.

eden laughed as Ali and jack were running in circles around her as they walked through town. eden looked different out side of the castle she didn't starring at the ground and he hair she usually used to hide her face was pinned back into a side braid.
"eden! look at the candy! " ali said running over to a window with her brother, there little faces pressed to the glass

He was looking around at a stand nearby, a bracelet caught his attention that reminded him of Eden. It appeared to be pretty and delicate but when he picked it up he noticed that it was actually light and strong.
"Got a special girl on the mind eh?" The vendor asked with a smile.
"Yes, a new friend." He answered and bought the bracelet and put it into his pocket after it was wrapped up safely and glanced over to see the one in question with two kids, he smiled a little and headed over. "Hey stranger."

eden jumped and dropped the bag in her hand and her little brother caught it "goshes sissy" he said looking up at her, Ali giggled looking at him "your handsome are you Edens boyfriend?" She asked grabbing his hand with a big grin as she stared up as the him
"w-what ali n-no" she was back to looking at the ground, her cheeks flushed red as she nervously played with the end of her hair ali just giggled staring up at him "Why not aren't cute boys supposed to like to have girlfriends"

Robert smiled a little. "Unfortunately I think both of us are a little busy for that stuff right now. It's nice to meet you, what is your name?"

"my names ali" she said grinning up at him "what do you mean unfortunately?" She asked as eden just concentrated on the candy in the store window

"Well I think it is sad when people are too busy to have enough time to meet others and make friends or form relationships. When people are that busy it can be hard to do things like that sometimes."

"Well maybe if mommy and daddy were doing better they wouldn't have to rely on sissy so much since she makes more then they do all together working for those rich people with the fancy hats" ali said and eden shot her a look and she looked down "sorry eden..can we get candy?" She asked fidgeting under her sisters gaze which softened at her sisters question "no ali we can't"
"Why not? " jack asked looking away from the glass
"you know why" she grumbled, she still hadn't met Roberts eye

"Why don't you pick out one thing okay? My treat." Robert replied. "If that's okay with Eden of course, no one is allergic to can or anything are they?"

eden opened her mouth and the kids just cheered running inside before she could speak " robert..." she said quietly, the first time she'd actually said his name and the fact she actually looked up at him when she said it was a big step "what are you doing here?"

"I was doing some wandering around town, getting some normal in my life without it being planned for me yah know? Saw you and thought I'd say hi. I also found something that made me think of you and decided to get it."

she looked confused by that comment "made you think of me?"
