Princess Anahita sat in her room while her lady in waiting, Cassandra, braided her hair so that it stayed out of the way and braided some pearls into it as well. It was the day she would be meeting her betrothed, the Prince of the Pacific. Though she wasn't excited about it, she had heard some not very good things about him.
Floating by her while she finished, Cassandra wasn't able to muster any words of encouragement, she had heard too many negative things to be able to try and be positive for the princess, who was also her best friend.
There was a knock at the door and it slid open, "your highness? Miss Cassandra? They've arrived."
They nodded and the servant swam off, the two following, heading for the the entrance of the castle.

Zale was doing his best to stay polite but was highly annoyed by the situation his brother had put him in. He didn't want to marry some princess just because he assumed it would be best for him, and he didn't even bother showing up right away he would be late due to a political issue back home so merrik would arrive in an hour or so.
"Your highness" Zale looked over at his attendant merrik had assigned to him.
"What?" Zale asked, the annoyance seeping out in his words
"His majesty will only be behind by about 30 minutes his meeting went better then planned" Zale rolled his eyes
"Great, I have 30 minutes before the leash is tightened" Zale grumbled crossing his arms and just waiting for this prissy princess he was being forced to marry.

The two arrived and both gave a bow as Ana's parents introduced everyone.
"Prince Zale, we would like you to meet our daughter Princess Anahita and this is her attendant Cassandra," her dad turned to them, "this is Prince Zale."
"It is nice to meet you," Ana replied politely.
Cassandra said nothing though usually wasn't expected to anyways.

Zale looked her over for a split second and his expression changed drastically as he liked what he saw "very nice to meet you as well. I do apologize but my brother had a bit of a problem and will be here shortly"
His attendant sighed quietly to himself from behind Zale seeing his complete personality shift as the sight of the princess

Cass immediately noticed the shift as well, though Ana didn't herself. She was still the type to try and see the best in others even if she did not want to necessarily be married to someone with the kind of rumors he had around him, but she was glad that he seemed to be polite at least.
"Not a problem at all, why don't you get comfortable in the drawing room while we wait?" Her dad suggested.

He gave a polite smile to her father "sounds wonderful" he replied, if you knew him well you knew this wasn't normal but if you didn't he seemed like a perfect gentleman. His attendant said nothing happy that he was behaving for the time being but knew that once the king was away and he was only around the princess that will change

Ana and Cass led the way to the room not far from where they were as her parents went off to take care of other things until everyone had arrived.

Zale looked over at Ana with a smirk "so it's Anahita hmm? You sure are pretty to look at, I was upset about this situation but once you came around the corner that was enough to change anyone's mind" he said, the usual asshole tone coming out and his attendant sighed
"Your highness.."
He waved a hand at him "don't, I'm sure she doesn't mind"

"I would prefer we keep things polite and formal for the time being actually. At least until we know one another better," Ana replied.

"Oh that type huh? Great" he said crossing his arms as he sat comfortably I the couch in the room "not sure why your parents agreed to this whole thing, they tell you why?"

"Not in specific terms, but I think it has to do with the other oceans allying together and getting hostile with both of our seas. Marriages have always been used to form stronger alliances," she shrugged.

"Which is a joke of a thing to do, but my brother thinks of his people over me anyways.brother of the year" Zale said as someone cleared there throat from the doorway and he looked over to see merrik standing calmly in the doorway.
"Zale..." merrik said as Zale got up, merrik flicked his attention to Ana and stopped for a moment
"And you must be princess Anahita" he smiled, he had that powerful air about him but he was just stunning in general.

"Being a leader can make it hard to balance family and other personal relationships. Why not tell him how you feel about it?"
She and Cass looked over to him as he floated in the doorway.
"Yes I am. I take it you must be King Merrik? It is a pleasure to meet you."

He gave her a nod "the pleasure is all mine princess....and I take it your behaving?" He questioned looking to his brother
"As always I have behaved" he said rolling his eyes at his brother
"Most days I highly doubt that but judging by the face you attendant is making I'm assuming you've been...decent"
Zale let out a breath of annoyance but said nothing in return

"A bit informal for a first meeting but hasn't said anything inappropriate," Cassandra piped up.
Ana was honestly surprised Cass waited this long to say anything.
