Both simply shook their heads. Neither believed it was that easy whenever someone said they could ask would punish or scold them later if they actually did. Although Gavin was surprised that they let their lack of answers slide. At least pertaining to Aila's abilities though figured Kane would likely ask her himself later if he really wanted to know.
