"I'll be right back, you two can do...I don't know whatever" she said getting up and walking out, the look on her face was a change from the one she held before it was more blank and colder. she knew what her brother needed...more of what her father needed them to do

They noticed the change but stayed quiet while she was gone, knowing there were guards just outside.

"How wonderful for you all. Now you can all run off and get revenge." Gavin replied in a sour tone.
"If you have no need of me at the moment I think I will do some training as you have guards watching over you at the moment." He added while standing up.

Aila was left alone so she got up to leave as well, quietly ducking by the guards and went after her brother, catching up to him.
"Gavin that was not called for." She said after grabbing his arm. "She's trying to be nice and she has a right to be sad about losing a parents just as much as we do. She didn't ask for what happened to us to happen."
"As far as we know. It could be some trick." Gavin responded with a growl.
"Aila, regardless of how we are treated she and her brother both are still in the heart of those who not only destroyed our lives but ever one of our peoples'. Most of them....millions of people, are dead and the rest ended up like us or worse. They are not our friends, we shouldn't let our guard down or let ourselves empathize with them just because one is being nice and the other hasn't hurt you yet."
Aila sighed, knowing that he had a point but still felt bad. Gavin sighed when seeing her expression.
"I....will talk to the princess later...I just....don't like hearing about such things. I think of mom and dad and what happened to them." He finally said, his tone softer. Aila started thinking about it too, the horror or their mutilated bodies and severed heads on spikes among the bodies of soldiers and guards in the midst of their former home reduced to rubble and shook the thoughts from her mind so she didn't start crying and just nodded, letting him go to shake the thoughts from his own mind, in his own way.

Eliana went to her room and made the guard jump in surprise as the door slammed shut in his face. Kane came into the hall and looked at the guard "What's her problem?" he questioned and the guard shrugged "not sure sir she just seems upset"

A little while later Gavin landed on her balcony, one of his new posts and knocked on the door leading into the room and waited.

He stepped into the room.
"Apologies for the intrusion princess, but I owe you an apology for my behavior earlier today. It was uncalled for to make such a comment, I understand that you likely miss your mother and want to find closure in what happened to her." He said.
Gavin expected a punishment for it and hoped that his sister would not be targeted, as it was usually the case. If he messed up she got punished instead of him.
