She giggled "oh I'm sure the display you put on earlier was enough of a greeting for all of them. But I'm glad you enjoy this better than the rest of the night"


Maverick lead her around with a smile, he didn't always seem to look it but he was quite graceful when he danced "see, that wasnt too hard to get up and dance with me"

He cracked a small smile, glancing to Rae and Maverick, "Looks like Rae got him on the floor too."

"I only didn't want to make you do something you didn't want to. I didn't have any other problem with it." She replied with a smile as well.

She looked over for a moment "I'm not surprised too much by that"


He smiled slightly "I dont do anything I dont want to if I can help it. So if I say I'm willing to do something it usually means its alright

"Does he secretly like to dance?" He guessed.

"Never know, you strike me as the type to do something asked of you whether you wanted it or not depending on who asked."

"He does, just wont admit it to anyone"

"I didnt know I came off that way to you, possibly because you've only seen me around the few people I actually listen to"

He nodded in understanding.

"The point still stands, a few select people you listen to, but always listen to them and do what they ask or tell you to right?" She asked curiously.

"Im sure it might be the company as well"


"To am extent I suppose. I listen to my sister plenty and ignore her sometimes as well but my father that's a different story"

"What makes you say that? Because she isn't his sister?"

"I guess it would be hard to go against something he wants, he is your father after all. I guess there is a benefit to not having family to have obligations to like that."

"Well yeah that's part of it"


"And being who he is that's even harder to say no to anything "

"What do you mean part of it?" He asked confused, not following what she was getting at.

"Yes being a big crime lord wouldn't help that either, Nico said no and now here we are." She shrugged.

"Well shes very pretty, and my brother is a sucker for a pretty girl"

"I assumed youd understand completely, as yeah that's how things go with him "

He frowned, he didn't like that idea, he didn't trust Maverick.

"I'm sure he wouldn't do something like that to you though, you're his son."

"Oh don't go frowning on me now, I just got a smile out of you" she sighed "you really dont like maverick I know, but how am I really any better of a person to be around than he is?"


"Depends on what I said no to honestly" he sighed "I can still get into some trouble in the same ways others do but not as severe punishment like hes not going to kill me "

"Because I feel that I can trust you to be sincere about how you feel and what you say. I can't say the same for him but she is too trusting when people are nice to her, I don't want her to get hurt. And Rae is like my own sister, I don't much care for any man that I can't be confident in their feelings or intentions to be around her."

"But would hurt you?" She guessed. "That's not right, no parent should hurt their kid or make them afraid that they will."

"I wont let him hurt her. He may not look it or act like it but my brother is very gentle and kind and especially when it comes to girls. Other men well that's a different story completely, but I will do my best to keep him on a little bit of a leash"
