Alex came back a while later and knocked "You ready hunter? I'll take you down to dinner and they made the good stuff it's our lucky night"

"Well roast beef and potatoes with carrots slow roasted in a honey glaze. And then dessert. It's to die for and if I don't bring you to Maverick in the next like 10 minutes he will be even more aggravated then he already is" She said heading down the hallways to the dining room

"Uhm, I'm sure he would prefer to explain it over having me do so" she said as they walked into the dining room, it was a smaller one split off from the main section where the rest of the pack usually ate.
Maverick and Elijah looked over at the two and Elijah's face lit up and the site of Alex. Alex slid into the seat next to him and he kissed her forehead and she pat the one beside her that was between her and Maverick who just watched her silently

Hunter would rather not sit in between anyone but she sat down anyways, trying to not be rude.
"Sorry about the lecture earlier, Alex gave me a better idea in how you and Elijah work. I'm not really use to things like that," she sat to Maverick while sitting down.

"Its fine, she wasn't when she got here as well." He said giving her a small smile as Alex and Elijah just talked between themselves
"But when he's being annoyingly affectionate at the dinner table that is when I almost think about killing him"
Alex and Elijah looked up and Alex glared at him "Oh shut up, and you know you should probably tell her now"
Maverick sighed and sat back

"Hm? Tell me what?" She asked, though had a feeling she wouldn't like the answer. She had felt like Alex had been leading up to something when speaking about Maverick specifically regarding the mate stuff but was actually hoping whatever this was, wasn't related to that.

"Well, look I can explain. Well Alex explained but we can't help who we pick" he started suddenly growing very nervous which was very unlike him as he was always confident in his actions. He let out a big breath looking back at her again "your my mate"

"Yikes. I was afraid that is what she was leading up to. I am so sorry for you man, you've been saddled with a nightmare cause I am not 'mate' material at all," it was less of rejection and more of pity and warning, but she did really want to figure out if such a thing could be severed, she wasn't ready for anything like this and never really considered any of it anymore at all.

Hunter wasn't fully sure what to do. If what Alex had told her was true then she didn't want to put someone through that by leaving. But at the same time Hunter wasn't ready to settle down or anything like that either.

"I think I need to go for a walk to think about this," she stood up.
In all honesty she felt an anxiety attack bubbling to the surface and needed to work the energy off.

"I can do it" Maverick said glaring at Alex
