Alexander sat back as his father wrote out his letter to the neighboring kingdom. his father being as hot headed as he was just because a few soilders accidentally crossed the border. "What's this about father why am I here?"
"You'll find out soon"

Serenity went through her normal duties before being summoned by her parents and entered the study.
"Yes?"
"We have a problem that we would like to keep you informed of. Some of our soldiers strayed a bit too far and wound up in the neighboring kingdom, now they have been pulled back and been made aware of exactly where the border lies, however with tensions already being a bit strained between us we fear that this may further push our neighboring king further than we would like. We have sent a letter in apology and are currently awating his response.

he handed a letter off to the messenger and sat across from his son "if there smart in the next few days you'll have a new bride"
Alex spit out his drink "what! what did you do!"

They discussed varying options that they would likely have to maintain peace and afterwards resumed their day until the letter would arrive.
Serenity was nervous now.

withing the day the messenger handed off the letter as Alex's father prepared a place for her obviously confident they wouldn't turn down what he had said

Later at dinner they received the message. As the king read he sighed. "Serenity."
"Yes father?" She asked.
"It would seem that the king wishes to have you and his son married. To appease the tensions."
Serenity sighed though understood her duty.
"Very well. Whatever you believe to be best." She said.
With a grim expression the king immediately wrote their response and had it sent back with their messenger.
"It would seem he wants it soon so we will make preparations."

his father smiled when he received the final letter "that settles it the princes is yours"
"but father I don't want her" Alex said getting up from the table since it was around dinner time now
"well you'll have her, and do what you want"

Serenity was nervous over the next two days as they made preparations for her departure. Her parents would be there for the ceremony within the few weeks, however they were not able to come with her now.
She had not met the prince, but has met the king and was not a fan.

Alex waited at the front entrance two days later as she was supposed to be arriving.
"must I have her father I really don't feel like marrying some princess I've never met"
"She's very beautiful trust me you'll want her the moment you met her" his father replied and he went quiet again

Serenity got out of the carriage. She had a small carry on bag in her hand but the rest was in the carriage that servants got out.
She looked around at the new surroundings before her attention fell to the king and prince.

his father didn't moved just grinned at his son "see what did I tell you she's beautiful"
Alex didn't respond to his father and walked down to her "uhm would you like me to carry that for you? my names Alexander by three way but you can call me alex"

"Um...no thank you...nice to meet you Alexander-Alex...I am Serenity." She responded.

"I would ignore my father he's being irrational"

"He is your father, you may be able to ignore him, but I cannot do such a thing."

"If you say so" he said walking up the steps as servants shuffled back inside with her things "you are just as lovely as the first time wed met princess" his father said with a grin and alex just sighed "That's a long trip her father she's tired please don't pester her too much"
