Abby sat on a swing alone as she waited for her mom to come home from work. A few of the residences of her building were out with their children and also kept and eye on Abby though their children were much younger so there wasn't really anyone her own age to play with at the present time. She didn't mind though, she was more exited for her mom to get home since she was able to get some vacation time off from both jobs for Winter break. She kicked some of the snow that had been lightly falling, dusting the ground.

Callan was walking by and looked over as he saw abby sitting on the swing, seeing the poor kid sitting alone and not playing he felt a little bad, it reminded him of his days living around here and having no one. so he stopped
"All this stuff to play on and you just sit on the swing? You okay kid?"

She looked up and nodded with a smile, not at all bothered by the vibe he could emit since she was use to being around gang members. "Yes I'm fine, I'm just waiting for my mommy to come home."

"Waiting for mom huh? " he sat on the swing next to her "I used to sit here and do the same thing, but I'd swing and Make sure to jump as soon as she came up so she had to catch me"

"I do that sometimes, but she works a lot and gets tired so I don't do it much anymore, at least not from high jumps." She replied as she continued her light swinging.

"I see, well I'm sure she works super hard but still takes good care of you huh? Takes you out to get a treat or a nice new outfit when she can?"

She nodded. "Yeah, and we dance at home while she cooks and we have movie nights when she has a night off. She's get's a time off for Christmas and new years so it's going to be fun."

She nodded. "I made her something." She pulled out a colorful but pretty jewelry set with a necklace, bracelet and earnings. "One of my friends from school makes jewelry with her mom so they helped me make them."

"Okay, bye bye." She waved and a few minutes later Cora ru rounded the corner into the park. Abby swung and jumped to land in her mother's arms who laughed and spun her around.

Cal walked around the corner towards the cemetery heading through the gates to his mothers grave

Cora gave her daughter a piggy back ride home to one of the buildings nearby, stopping at their door to unlock it to their little run down apartment with two bedrooms and one bathroom. They had it decorated with things they made together and a few things added for the winter holidays including a little four foot fake Christmas tree in the corner of the living room.

He ended up falling asleep for an hour before waking up and shaking his hair out as he stood up heading back towards home

Cora took her back out so that they could play in the snow for a little while together. The park now empty other than them making snowballs and throwing them and starting on a snowman.
"I met a nice man here today." Abby mentioned.
That raised a red flag to Cora. "Did you? How was he nice?"
"He just sat and talked with me, thought I was lonely, aunt Tonya and uncle Vince were keeping an eye on me me, I think they knew him because they didn't say anything." She explained.
